Declare your personal property online, by mail, or in person by April 1st and avoid a 10% assessment penalty.

Overview

Individual Personal Property Declarations are mailed in January. 

Electronic filing is available from late January to early October. Dates may vary.

All City of St. Louis taxpayers with tangible property are mandated by State law to file a list of all taxable tangible personal property by April 1st of each year with the Assessor's Office. The assessment is made as of January 1 for the current year's tax and is predicated on 33 1/3% of true value.

Personal Property Declarations are due by April 1st of each year. Declarations may be filed in person, online or by mail after the deadline. Penalties will apply to declarations filed after the April 1 deadline.
