Overview

Letter of support is one of the services provided by Alderman Cohn to constituents of the 3rd Ward. For projects that utilize City streets or property or events that need a special event permit, a letter of support from the alderman is required. For new businesses looking to obtain a liquor license, a letter of support can help get necessary paperwork from various departments.

Preparation

Please complete the following form with as much information as possible, as the information you provide will help Alderman Cohn better understand your proposed business, project or event. Please note that Alderman Cohn values community engagement and it is strongly encouraged prior to requesting a Letter of Support.

Be prepared to complete the following three sections in the form:

  1. General Information
  2. Business, Project, or Event Details
  3. Community Impact

Instructions

Please note that requests with less than 72 hours notice should also be emailed directly to Alderman Cohn but may not be able to be completed.

What to Expect

You will receive a notice that your request has been submitted.

Alderman Cohn's office will follow up once the application is completed, or ask for additional information if it involves multiple departments. Dependent upon the business, project, or event timeline, you will receive a support letter or denial within 3-7 business days.
