The City of St. Louis is proud to announce the second year of Open Streets events. This year's events, scheduled for two Saturdays in October, will wind through Old North St. Louis and The Grove neighborhoods. Both Open Streets events will feature several miles of City roads that will be closed to automobiles but open to pedestrians and cyclists. Open Streets is a special opportunity to be active and social while exploring the hidden gems of two unique City areas.

October 29, 2011 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The second route of the year will highlight The Grove neighborhood in the City. In addition to the usual Healthy Living activities and entertainment, this Open Streets will also feature Halloween-themed activities for children in the afternoon. There will be Trick or Treating at the businesses along Manchester Road, costume contests, and other fun activities for both children and the young at heart. A more adult-oriented party on Manchester will continue into the evening. View The Grove route at http://bit.ly/qvhiOT.

This year's Open Streets events will offer even more diverse activities, live music, and exciting events than before. Open Streets are two days of the year when City streets are open for people to enjoy and explore – and it's a unique opportunity for St. Louisans to experience the City by foot or bicycle. We encourage participants of all ages to enjoy Open Streets – be active, meet new friends and neighbors, and celebrate the season. Participation in Open Streets is free and open to the public.
