The Wellington Avenue Bridge over River Des Peres will be closed for reconstruction on Monday, April 30, 2012, at 9:00 a.m.  The Wellington Avenue Bridge is accessed by Wabash from the south and by Ellendale/McCausland from the north.  Work is scheduled to be completed in about fourteen months.

The signed detour for this closure for southbound traffic from McCausland at Arsenal will be east on Arsenal Street to Jamieson, south on Jamieson to Lansdowne and then west on Lansdowne to Wabash.  The signed detour for southbound traffic from Lansdowne and Wabash will be east on Lansdowne to Jamieson, north on Jamieson to Arsenal and then west on Arsenal to Ellendale/McCausland.    

The General Contractor for this $5.2 million project is Fred Weber, Inc.  The work will consist of complete removal and replacement of the existing bridge.  The alignment of the bridge is being modified to eliminate the sharp turn at the northwest end of the bridge.
