Obtain a Compliance Letter

A Compliance Letter is needed when there is a hold on your license by the Missouri Department of Revenue.

A compliance Letter can be obtained only after the following conditions and preparations are met:  

• Cases are paid in full
• Community Service is completed
• Come to your next court date and discuss your situation with the judge.

Please prepare these materials:

• You must have listed the case numbers(s) requiring compliance and the charge(s)
• Your notarized signature must appear at the bottom of the letter
• Include a clear copy of your picture ID
• Enclose a self-addressed, pre-posted envelope Remember: Your case(s) must be paid in full before a Compliance Letter can be issued. 
• Take a number at the Customer Service Counter
• You must have a picture identification card and your case number(s) you need compliance for
• If you do not know the case number(s) for the required compliance letter, it is your responsibility to contact the Department of Revenue for this required information.

In-Person

• Come to the St. Louis City Municipal Court located at 1520 Market Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63103, Suite 1120 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. except on City Holidays)
• Take a number at the Customer Service Counter
• You must have a picture identification card and your case number(s) you need compliance for
• If you do not know the case number(s) for the required compliance letter, it is your responsibility to contact the Department of Revenue for this required information.

Please note: Your case(s) must be paid in full before a Compliance Letter can be issued.

By Mail

If you reside outside of the City limits and are in need of a compliance letter, please conform to the following instructions:

Type or print clearly a request for compliance to be sent to St. Louis City Municipal Court, 1520 Market Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63103, Suite 1120, ATTN: Compliance

• You must have listed the case numbers(s) requiring compliance and the charge(s)
• Your notarized signature must appear at the bottom of the letter
• Include a clear copy of your picture ID
• Enclose a self-addressed, pre-posted envelope Remember: Your case(s) must be paid in full before a Compliance Letter can be issued. 

No Fees.

The receipt of a complience letter from the Municipal courts.
