St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay, an avid soccer fan who had been playing the game since elementary school, is being named as one of the 2014 Inductees to the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame.  Committee members (from left in green blazers) Gary Guarino, Jim Leeker and Mike DiRaimondo surprised the Mayor on April 10, 2014 with their personal one-on-one visit to Room 200 City Hall.  Mayor Slay was a member of the 1973, 1974, and 1975 NAIA National Quincy College Championship teams where he was also a member of the 1976 NAIA All-Star Team.
