This position is selected for the Hiring Incentive Program. The incentive shall be in the amount of three thousand dollars ($3000.00) upon completion of the probationary period.  The hiring incentive will be paid (if funds are available) by the Department/Division which appoints the applicant.  The hiring incentive is not available to current City employees.

Position Specifications

Incumbents in this position will serve as a systems/database administrator and are responsible for developing software interfaces, configuring existing software systems, designing databases, and/or building integrations between systems.  Duties include: implementing/configuring and debugging complex software solutions, including but not limited to Node.ejs, HTTPS API integrations, SOAP API Integrations, and, testing version upgrades prior to production.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree In Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; plus three (3) years of full-time paid programmer/analyst experience in the information technology field that Includes a working knowledge of current Microsoft and Windows operating systems OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience writing, analyzing, debugging, and deploying JavaScript/typescript applications (Angular, React, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript) OR Experience working with SQL, including Oracle and Microsoft variants with a demonstrated capacity to write complex SQL queries is highly preferred.

The Director of Personnel may, in their discretion, accept alternate documentation.

CITY RESIDENTS PREFERENCE POINTS:  City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam. An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points.   City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points
