St. Louis Public Library Foundation Expands Board/Selects Leadership
The St. Louis Public Library Foundation is pleased to announce it has elected the following individuals to its board of trustees:
- Scott Dolan, Managing Director, US Bank, NA
- Matthew Fischer, Director, Tampsco Enterprises, Inc.
- Barbara B. Goodman, Community Volunteer
- Patti Thorp, Community Volunteer
- Bryan Willert, Executive Vice President, Willert Home Products
- Andreas Wolf, Dir. of Mergers & Acquisitions, Novus International, Inc.
The announcement was made by Rick Simoncelli, St. Louis Public Library Foundation president. "We are so very pleased with these new additions to our volunteer family. The breadth of experience on our St. Louis Public Library Foundation Board reflects the creativity, diversity and expertise which our library system provides for all of its users, both on site in our library branches and on-line," commented Mr. Simoncelli.
Currently the St. Louis Public Library Foundation is working to expand its donor base and also complete the $20 million Central To Your World capital campaign to support the $70 million restoration and revitalization of downtown's Central Library. In its new configuration, Central Library features an 83 percent increase of space for public use, expanded children's and teen rooms, a lower-level 250-seat auditorium, and other amenities including Urban Eats Café Central, which celebrated its Grand Opening on August 12.
The Central Library project, designed by Cannon Design and built by BSI Constructors, Inc., has been recognized with several national and international awards including the national AIA/ALA Library Building Award and the National Preservation Honor Award by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
