Admission: Free.

Neighborhood Naturalists:

Make observations of nature and wildlife found in local residential areas— backyards, parks, and nearby paths.

For the first time this year, the St. Louis metropolitan region will participate in the global City Nature Challenge. 

The St. Louis Region’s iNaturalist website will house the latest event information.



Save the Frog Day with Herpetologists of the Saint Louis Zoo

Where: Meet at the Herpetarium at the Saint Louis Zoo [].

When: 9 a.m. to noon


Forest Park with Ecologists, Gary Schimmelpfenig & Thibaud Aronson

Where: Kennedy Savanna; meet at the intersection of Rosebury Avenue and S. Skinker Blvd. The Group will walk over to the Savanna.

When: 10:00 a.m. to noon


Guided Biodiversity Hike at the Missouri Botanical Garden
Where: Missouri Botanical Garden (meet at PlantLab classroom behind the Climatron)
When: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.


Nature Tour of Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum with Naturalists

Where: Bellefontaine Cemetery & Arboretum[], meet at the front gate.

When: 10 a.m. to noon


Assess Habitat at O' Fallon Park with the Missouri Department of Conservation

Where: O'Fallon Park RecPlex; meet at the front entrance.

When: 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.


Evening Owl Prowl with Mark Glenshaw at Forest Park

Where: Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center [], Forest Park

When: 6:30-8:30 p.m.

RSVP to Mark by email to receive an e-mail from with instructions on what to wear and bring on the owl prowl.  Group size limited to 10 people, 2 attendees maximum per RSVP, no children under 4.
