Juneteenth is the oldest celebration in America growing out of the experiences of African Americans and is a celebration of the ending of chattel slavery in America after the Union forces won the Civil War.

The City of St. Louis designated Juneteenth as an official holiday on 6/19/2020 with the adoption of Resolution Number 20

Non-essential City offices will be closed in observance of Juneteenth Independence Day.  Court buildings will close at 1 pm.
