Notice: St. Louis City officials recommend that residents follow CDC guidance for COVID-19 safety. Please use a virtual meeting option if you can. See the CDC website for guidance on large and small gatherings.

Community Event

Admission: Free.

Join us to celebrate 200 years of Missouri with hands-on activities, pop-up live music, and short theatre performances about Veuve Chouteau—the “Mother of St. Louis.” Our state dessert is the ice cream cone, so we’ll celebrate with frozen treats! Starting at 2pm come get your free ice cream, generously provided by Prairie Farms, while it lasts. At 3pm families can enjoy “Inside Scoop,” a special program led by Mama Lisa that incorporates the science of ice-cream making, movement, and music. And from 2 to 4pm, you can join us inside for an art activity led by the St. Louis Artists’ Guild.

This program is scheduled to take place in person at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, should conditions allow. Protective face masks are required, and guests will be asked to practice social distancing. A detailed schedule of events will be announced in the summer.
