Farmers Market right here in St. Louis! Starting Saturday April 2nd, this USDA-funded Farmers Market will be held 10am-3pm weekly at the Gary Brooks Community Garden, 4031 W. Florissant Ave. in St. Louis, at the intersection of Alice Avenue. The One Africa! One Nation! (OAON) Farmers Market is a blueprint for African self-reliance and self-determination, providing access to fresh, healthy food to the black community, end food apartheid and create community commerce by building relationships with black farmers and vendors. Local farmers and growers will be accepting EBT/SNAP for fresh fruits and vegetables, with more variety available with the growing season. The One Africa! One Nation! Farmers Market will be a popular destination where people can experience the vibrant flavors, cooking styles, foods, entertainment and products that represent the culture of black people from the Caribbean to the African continent to our popular St. Louis BBQ. OAON’s parent organization, the African People’s Education and Defense Fund (APEDF) is uniquely positioned to make this market a success in North St. Louis City. We have 15 years of experience building and managing the One Africa! One Nation! Marketplace in Philadelphia that has incubated more than 24 businesses.
