Admission: Charge. Regular Garden admission applies. St. Louis City and County residents receive free admission before noon on Wednesdays (proof of residency required).

Description

In celebration of Juneteenth, the Garden is proud to present a series of enriching activities and demonstrations designed to provide historical insights and celebrate Black contributions to the fields of horticulture and science. Join us throughout the day for an immersive experience!

A Juneteenth Interpretive Guide will be available throughout throughout the day. The Interpretive Guide is an essential resource for understanding the significance of Juneteenth. It offers historical insights, features engaging activities, and shares the stories of notable Black individuals who have made significant contributions to The Garden and the scientific community.

  • Ethiopian Book Binding presentation by Susie Cobbledick, Garden Library Conservatory
    10 a.m.–1 p.m. | Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center
  • Pot-A-Plant | Visitors can pot their own plant and learn about its connection to Juneteenth.
    10 a.m.–3 p.m. | PlantLab
  • Storybook Hour and Walk in the English Woodland Garden (Happiness Tree) | Enjoy continuous storytelling sessions in the Brookings Exploration Center, featuring a YouTube video presentation of "In the Garden with Dr. Carver." Additionally, explore the Happiness Tree exhibit from June 1 to June 30.
