Proposed City Charter Changes - Updating Certain Language Usage in the Charter

Summary

An ordinance submitting to the qualified voters of the City an amendment to the Charter of the City of St. Louis updating language throughout the Charter to replace pronouns with specific titles, delete specific obsolete references, provide for modern methods of advertisement, use modern departmental names; repealing and replacing Sections 1 of Article IV and enacting in lieu thereof a new Section 1 of Article IV changing the name of the Board of Aldermen to the City Council, and making similar changes; providing for an election to be held for voting on the proposed amendment, for the manner of voting, and for the publication, certification, deposit, and recording of this ordinance; and containing an emergency clause.
