Qualifications to file for Recorder of Deeds

  • Citizen of the United States
  • Resident of the State of Missouri and City of St. Louis for one year
  • Registered voter of the City of St. Louis
  • Twenty-One years of age


Four years


Elected at the General Election two years following the Presidential Election

Filing Dates

Filing opens for party candidates as follows:

Filing dates for Recorder of Deeds candidates
Filing Opens 8:00am The last Tuesday in February immediately preceding the primary election. 
Filing Closes 5:00pm The last Tuesday in March immediately preceding the primary election.
Withdraw   The eleventh Tuesday prior.

Filing Fee

$50.00 filing fee paid to the Treasurer of the state or county   committee of the political party upon whose ticket   the candidate seeks nomination. Required sum may be  submitted by the candidate to the Board of Election   Commissioners for the City of St. Louis.
