April 2015: Sandra Mantia is Employee of the Month

We have a longtime City of St. Louis employee named as our April 2015 Employee of the Month. Sandra Mantia works at the Gateway Transportation Center and has been with the City for 38 years!  

Sandra is a Transportation Center Operations Specialist, and has been in this role since November 2008. Some of her responsibilities include: supervising the security staff who maintain a safe atmosphere for the passengers traveling Amtrak, Greyhound and Megabus. She also supervises the housekeeping staff to ensure the cleanliness of the building. Additionally, she handles vendor issues, concerns and/or requests. And lastly, she handles inspections of the property to make sure the building is safe and in good repair.

Sandra tells us the best part of her job is "working with the best manager and co-workers, which makes for a productive team. It is very rewarding to hear the travelers complimenting us on our state-of-the-art facility." She also takes pride when hearing the customers compliment the cleanliness and safety of the facility.

When she's not working, Sandra likes spending time with her children (Kathleen, Kyle, Irisha) and the rest of her family. She says she loves the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues. She is also a proud supporter of Girls On The Run with her 12-year-old, Irisha. And to top it off, she's preparing to become a grandmother to a baby boy due in September.
