Bonds are also issued to refinance outstanding debt generally to reduce our interest payments and free up revenues to help fund the government services City residents need and deserve.
The Comptroller, as St. Louis' chief financial officer, is responsible for the City's financial stability. Public investment in the City and its infrastructure is vital to maintaining the strength and soundness of our fiscal and budgetary operations.
