Municipal Court Cases Requiring Court Appearance

Cases that require appearance in court and cannot be paid in advance.

The following municipal court cases require a court appearance:

All non-traffic offenses

  • housing and nuisance cases
  • peace disturbance
  • petty larceny
  • resisting, interfering or trash charges

Serious traffic offenses

  • DUI
  • leaving the scene
  • driving while license suspended or revoked
  • speeding 25 miles or more over the limit
  • two or more moving violation convictions within the preceding 24 months
  • if your traffic citation involves a motor vehicle accident

Other cases may allow you to pay and plead without a court appearance.
