Municipal Court Cases Requiring Court Appearance
Cases that require appearance in court and cannot be paid in advance.
The following municipal court cases require a court appearance:
All non-traffic offenses
- housing and nuisance cases
- peace disturbance
- petty larceny
- resisting, interfering or trash charges
Serious traffic offenses
- DUI
- leaving the scene
- driving while license suspended or revoked
- speeding 25 miles or more over the limit
- two or more moving violation convictions within the preceding 24 months
- if your traffic citation involves a motor vehicle accident
Other cases may allow you to pay and plead without a court appearance.
