The Bee-Fit Wellness Program is a partnership between The City of St. Louis and BJC Healthcare and focuses on educating and motivating City of St. Louis employees to live a healthy lifestyle.Logo - Bee-Fit

Blood Pressure Clinics will resume in June!

 

 

Program Descriptions:

 

1520 Market Body Toning (11:45am-12:30pm): Sculpt, tone and strengthen the entire body in this class.

 

1520 Market Cardio Core (11:45am-12:30pm): This class is a full body cardio workout that will keep your heart rate up to burn mega calories and will include exercises to strengthen and tone the core (abdominals).

 

Carnahan Yoga (12-12:45pm), Airport Yoga (11am-12pm), 1520 Market Yoga (11:45am-12:30pm): These classes will incorporate traditional yoga poses and moves for a full body workout.

 

Airport (11am-12pm) & Water Department-Kingshighway Zumba (11:30am-12pm & 12-12:30pm): Hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and more is completed in this high energy dance and aerobics class.

 

Smoking Cessation Class (11am-12pm): No need to quit on your own! Bee-Fit is partnering with the City of St. Louis Department of Health to offer a smoking cessation class. The Freedom from Smoking curriculum is provided and will be facilitated by Department of Health employees. Sign up by contacting Cathy Hargrove by phone at 314-622-4849 or by e-mail at hargrovec@stlouis-mo.gov.

 

Mammography Van:  Call 314-747-2222 or 800-600-3606 (option 2) to schedule a screening. No walk-ins will be accepted.

 

Biometric Health Screenings: Don’t miss out on your $50 Schnucks gift card! Call the BJC Health Line at 314-747-7234 to reserve your appointment time today. Health measurements include: body mass index, total cholesterol and ratio, blood pressure and blood glucose.

 

Weight Lifting 101: Class taught at Carnahan, room 730. Due to employee interest, the Weight Lifting 101 will continue on Fridays in May. A bigger space has been reserved at Carnahan, room 730.  Employees will learn how to lift weights safely and effectively to gain strength and tone the body. Dumbbells, bands and your own body weight will be used. Employees will receive exercise pictures with instructions. This class will be offered for a limited time, so don’t miss out!

 

Weight Lift @ Lunch: This is a great time for participants to practice what they have learned in Weight Lifting 101. But any employee may use this room completing his/her own workout. To use this room, complete a Bee-Fit sign-up/waiver and sign-in on provided log sheet in room. Equipment available for use includes: dumbbells, bands, steps and stretching/yoga mats.

Spring Slim Down (May 23-June 20): Join Nancy Trail, registered dietitian, for a 5 week nutrition series learning how to slim down and lose weight. She will be completing weekly weigh-ins, teaching you how to use apps that track calories/fitness and more.
