ACTIVE CHALLENGE(S)

On the Move Challenge

Get up and move more in this program that encourages participants to track their activity level by using a tracking device like a pedometer, wrist tracker like Fitbit or a phone app.  Participants will learn how to safely increase their activity level in this seven week challenge. All participants who successfully complete On the Move will earn a walking belt and shoe wallet.

NEW! Participants will have a chance to complete a percent body fat analysis with body fat calibers.

Carnahan group fitness room under construction! Yoga classes normally taught at Carnahan will be held at 1520 Market during construction.

Program Descriptions:

1520 Market Body Toning (11:45am-12:30pm): Sculpt, tone and strengthen the entire body in this class.

1520 Market Yoga (12-12:45pm): These classes will incorporate traditional yoga poses and moves for a full body workout.

Airport Zumba (11am-12pm): Hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and more is completed in this high energy dance and aerobics class.

Carnahan Walk to the Arch (11:30am-12:15pm): This class will meet in the front of the Carnahan Courthouse and will walk to the Arch grounds. Walking and other fitness friendly activities will be incorporated.

BP Clinics (Blood Pressure Clinics): A BJC registered nurse visits worksites to confidentially track employee blood pressure measurements and provide on-site education for avoiding or managing at-risk blood pressure levels.

Mammography Screening: Appointments must be made in advance by calling 800-600-3606 (option 2) between 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Use your Bee-Fit time

According to Regulation 148, departments are encouraged to allow up to 3 hours of paid administrative leave (in accordance with and subject to department operational requirements) per employee per week to allow participation in Bee-Fit program approved, documented wellness related activities. Speak to your supervisor about this today!

Carnahan Group Fitness classroom is under construction!

This room is being expanded to accommodate more participants. Yoga classes usually taught at Carnahan will continue during construction at the 1520 Market, 2nd floor Bee-Fit room.
