Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position perform financial control activities for City departments/agencies. Duties include processing reimbursement requests; preparing, analyzing and reconciling financial statements, reports and journal entries; posting data to appropriate accounts and the general ledger; generating receipts and payment summaries and preparing deposits and fund transfer requests. Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a Business degree with a major in Accounting. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Routine bookkeeping will not be considered professional accounting experience.

Considerable experience with a spreadsheet program, such as Excel.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Written Test.

The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
