Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position assist with planning, coordinating, monitoring and delivering the Bureau of Security Operations functions and special projects in the Airport Police Unit. Duties include: updating the TSA-approved Airport Security Program; reviewing tenant construction applications; documenting potential security compromises and writing violation notices; notifying appropriate Airport management of projects that may affect security; inspecting grounds and construction sites for compliance; reviewing and submitting badge applications and collecting and analyzing data to create reports.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field;
Experience: One year of recent full-time paid experience monitoring security programs. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license must present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. When completing the Employment History section of the application, include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete/carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year character investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
