Hourly Salary: $10.50

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position supervise and instruct youth in the sport of boxing. Responsibilities include: teaching conditioning exercises; instructing children and adults in the proper methods of boxing; instructing and enforcing rules of the game; timely record keeping and setting up and taking down the boxing ring. Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) certificate; AND: Some experience participating in a recognized instructional boxing program;

OR: Some experience as a boxing trainer, coach, instructor, or official. Must have written documentation of qualifying volunteer work experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Current certification in first aid and CPR; Boxing Coach certificate; prior experience officiating boxing matches.

MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of the medical examination.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
