Normal entry salary is $62,946.

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position analyze, test and install complex electronic information processing hardware and associated operating system software; write/modify operating system and application based programs and instruct / monitor the work of programmers and technical support personnel. Examples of duties include: developing implementation plans for the installation of new systems and the upgrade of existing systems; monitoring performance of network systems, troubleshooting network malfunctions and implementing solutions and making recommendations for security enhancements. Minimum Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Four years of progressively responsible programming experience supporting and maintaining computer systems.

OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: At least one year of supervisory experience. Experience with Cisco IOS (switches, routers and firewalls) and Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM.) Knowledge of Dell Computers and Palo Alto and Barracuda Networks.
