Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position oversee the accounting/financial functions for a City division or department and supervise the activities of professional accountants and support staff. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business degree with a major in Accounting.
Experience: Four years of progressively responsible accounting experience including at least two years in a supervisory/management capacity.
OR, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. When completing the Employment History section of the application, include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the employee must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly.
A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations with positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
