Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position plan, organize and manage crews engaged in maintenance, repair and construction of city parks, buildings or facilities. Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree in Building Maintenance, Building Systems Engineering Technology, or a related field with an emphasis on mechanical and electrical systems; plus five years of experience supervising skilled employees in the construction and/or maintenance of building electrical and/or mechanical systems. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants without a Missouri driver's license must present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or Facilities Engineering is preferred.

A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
