Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for managing the security functions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Duties include: managing the SIDA Badging Office, Security Operations Unit, CCTV Alarm Room Operations, security guard services contract and ensuring compliance with rules, regulations and federal requirements associated with the Transportation Security Administration. A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field; plus four years of experience managing security programs. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess said license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license must present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.
Documentation of qualifying educational achievement must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
