Incumbents who meet the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $42,328 annually. Journeyman in an appropriate skilled trade who have completed an apprenticeship program registered by the Department of Labor or equivalent will start at $42,978 annually. Proof of completion of a registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program and Journeyman status must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position design, program, install, maintain and repair electronic and mechanical control systems.

An Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or completion of a two-year training program in electronics from a recognized trade school; OR two years of experience maintaining and repairing Building Automation Control Systems.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must be able to present license at the time of the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver’s will be required to present a “Driving Record Check” from their State’s Department of Motor Vehicles.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Building Automation Control Systems, Direct Digital Controls, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, large commercial steam, hot water and chilled water automated HVAC systems. Training from an accredited school in DDC controls, Programmable Logic Controllers, or process control.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered. Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
