Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for developing, coordinating and supervising all communications and public affairs efforts for a large City department or agency. This includes written materials, media relations, various internal/external means of communication and the supervision of staff.

A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field; plus three years of experience developing and coordinating public information programs for a large organization. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: At least one year of previous supervisory experience is preferred.
