Normal entry salary is $54,860.

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position are responsible for the supervision, monitoring and management of subordinate Community Development Administration staff assisting with federal (HUD) development projects and programs.  Duties include supervising subordinate staff assisting with housing development and environmental reviews of residential rehabilitation and new construction development projects.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field; plus four years of community or housing development project management experience.  OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview.  Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.  Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license will be required to present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.  

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience managing non-profit mixed-finance development projects and an active real estate license.

A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application.  Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. When completing the Employment History section of the application, include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete/carelessly completed applications will not be considered.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.  The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
