Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for planning, organizing and administering the Department of Health’s epidemiology program and supervising personnel. Responsibilities include: long-range planning, developing, implementing and monitoring of epidemiological investigations, studies and intervention strategies; producing investigative reports, statistical analyses and summaries; maintaining contact with community healthcare providers and local, state and regional stakeholders to encourage proper reporting and ensuring the work of subordinates meets compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

A Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Care Administration or a related field; plus five years of professional public health experience that includes at least one year of communicable disease or epidemiology research and planning experience. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in a closely related field and supervisory/managerial experience that includes communicable disease program planning/development and building community partnerships.
