Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing a variety of routine building cleaning and custodial duties. This examination’s eligible list will also be used to fill Parking Garage Attendant vacancies. Applicants who wish to be considered for Parking Garage Attendant vacancies must possess a valid driver’s license and should note their type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application.

One year of experience performing custodial work. OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Qualifying experience must include knowledge of hard floor surface care, carpet care and cleaning, restroom care and general cleaning and safety procedures. Ability to lift up to fifty pounds, push and pull to over one hundred pounds to perform custodial and cleaning duties such as picking up trash and pushing carts. Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to make minor repairs on cleaning equipment operated in the performance of duties.

Your employment experience and training will be used to determine whether you meet the entrance requirements for this position and to compute your experience and training evaluation. Applicants must provide explanation for all changes in employment and any gaps in their employment history. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will be not considered.
MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of their medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
