Nature of Work
Incumbent in this position is responsible for planning, organizing and administering the Department of Health’s Communicable Disease and Women, Children, Adolescents and School Health services. Responsibilities include: long-range planning, developing, implementing and monitoring of strategic plans for departmental operations such as: communicable disease testing, clinical operations, surveillance and counseling; medical records and grants administration; asthma and lead screenings and case management; evaluating staff and program effectiveness and ensuring the work of subordinates meets compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

A Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Care Administration or a related field; plus five years of professional public health experience that includes at least one year of communicable disease or family or school health services experience. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in a closely related field and supervisory/managerial experience that includes program planning/development and building community partnerships.
