Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for managing and overseeing executive areas of urban planning and community development for the Planning and Urban Design Agency or the Community Development Administration. Examples of duties include: managing a staff of professionals responsible for the implementation and evaluation of planning and community development programs; evaluating cost and impact effectiveness of current programs and forecasting future funding levels and developing polices and procedures in accordance with agency objectives and government regulations.
This position will be filled on a term basis while the former incumbent is on an in-service leave. At the completion of the in-service leave, the former incumbent has the right to return to this position.

A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or Policy, Business or Public Administration, or a related field; plus five years of experience managing/monitoring federally assisted urban programs. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in a closely related field or Juris Doctorate is preferred. At least three years of this experience supervising/managing staff involved in community development or related programs.
