Incumbents who meet the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $49,192 annually. Journeyman who have completed an apprenticeship program registered by the Department of Labor or equivalent will start at $53,794 annually. Proof of completion of a registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program and Journeyman status must be submitted at the time of filing the Employment Application.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position install, repair and maintain electrical system components, fixtures and lines and coordinate work assignments. Other duties include overseeing electrical safety; troubleshooting and inspecting work for completeness and compliance with specifications; providing training and monitoring and reporting on work progress.

Three years of full-time paid experience as an Electrician; OR one year of full-time paid experience as a journeyman Electrician plus any one of the following: completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in the electrical trade, completion of a technical or trade school program in electricity, or licensure by the City of St. Louis as an Electrician. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License: Incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) while employed by the City of St. Louis. Candidates that have a CDL permit at the time of hire and must obtain a valid CDL (Class A or B) as a condition of successfully completing their working test period. Proof of educational achievement/training must be submitted with the Employment Application or upon request.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly.
A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
