Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position perform, lead and directly supervise work crews engaged in performing a variety of urban forestry tree maintenance functions such as planting, trimming, removing, stump grinding and other related duties. These positions may require mandatory availability for 24-hour snow and storm call.

An Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Forestry, Arboriculture, or a closely related field. OR two years of experience supervising and/or participating in the professional care and maintenance of trees which includes planting, trimming and removing trees. Qualifying experience should demonstrate proficiency with the operation of tree maintenance equipment such as chainsaws, pole pruners, axes, aerial lift trucks, brush and log chippers, stump cutters, dump trucks and other related equipment. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present license upon request.
