Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position are responsible for researching, collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting information regarding crime fighting and operational procedures, strategies, and initiatives for the purposes of evaluating and allocating resources and ensuring policies and procedures are in compliance with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or a closely related field; plus one year of experience in planning and grant writing. Qualifying experience must have a working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Powerpoint.  Must demonstrate sound research methodology, statistical analysis skills, and must be proficient in the use of personal computers.  OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  A Master’s degree in one of the above named disciplines, Law Enforcement Planner Certification and a working knowledge of SPSS.

MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass an oral swab "Drug Screen" as part of the Medical examination. Incumbents are subject to random Drug Screen and Alcohol Tests as a condition of their employment.
