Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position investigate alleged violations of city and state corrections policies and procedures. Duties include interviewing witnesses and participants; drafting written reports and summaries; coordinating investigations with other law enforcement agencies; documenting and photographing physical evidence; and testifying at legal proceedings.

Education: An Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Corrections, or a related field.
Experience: At least one year of experience working as an investigator in a correctional, law enforcement, or similar agency OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or upon request.

MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass an oral swab "Drug Screen" as part of the Medical examination.

The Director of Personnel may, in their discretion, accept alternate documentation.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly.
A ten-year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
