Employment Opportunity with the Office of the Public Administrator

Nature of Work

Prepares all annual and final settlements of account due to be filed in the Probate Court, provides all vouchers and other documentation as required for the approval of settlements.     Assists in the assembly of information necessary for preparation of tax returns.  Manages procurement of office supplies.  Answers phone and directs calls as appropriate.  Helps with filing and opening and closing files and with other paperwork.

The candidate must exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  The candidate must be able to learn and be competent in Estate Management Software, a proprietary software program used by the Public Administrator.  The candidate must be adept at bookkeeping or accounting.  The Candidate must be adept in communicating person to person, via telephone, email, and fax. 

The position requires the successful candidate to be well-organized and detail oriented.  The candidate must be able to calendar their tasks and follow through as planned.  The candidate must be precise and conscientious.  The position requires the understanding of confidentiality of the client’s information.

Minimum Requirements

Associates in Business with emphasis on bookkeeping or accounting or 3 to 5 years of experience. 

Must be a city resident or willing to relocate to the City of St. Louis

Starting Salary is $33,020 annually.
