St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE), the City’s workforce development department, will assist with hiring for open positions at the Ballpark Village project. SLATE announces that registration is required and is currently open to all individuals interested in providing quality hospitality services to the many patrons and guests expected to enjoy Ballpark Village.
To be considered, individuals need to visit the SLATE offices and register with the Missouri Career Center network. To register, they need to bring a resume and any of the following forms of I.D.:
• Driver’s License or State I.D.;
• Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate or Hospital Record of Birth;
• U.S. Passport
Once individuals are registered and assessed for their interests and skills, SLATE will then determine if they’re job ready. If they are ready and as jobs become available, SLATE staff will refer candidates to Ballpark Village position(s) that match their skills and interests, starting in January 2014.
For job seekers needing to polish their skills or those needing assistance preparing a resume, staff will refer them to our no-cost workshops and training programs. Attendees will learn how to prepare and make the best possible first impression. SLATE can also refer job seekers to other quality services offered by our many community partners.
Interested persons should know that hiring for Ballpark Village’s open positions starts with a visit to the SLATE Missouri Career Center to meet with an Employment and Training Advisor. SLATE has two locations conveniently located in St. Louis City – at 1520 Market Street (Downtown), and at 4811 Delmar Boulevard (Central West End). Both locations are open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on week days, except Wednesdays, when the office opens at 9 a.m.

Ballpark Village is on approximately 10 acres of land where the old Busch Stadium and the Bowling Hall of Fame were located. This will be the first master-planned and fully integrated sports-anchored development in the United States. Ballpark Village will initially offer approximately 100,000 square feet of entertainment, retail stores, and restaurants; additional retail, office, residential and parking capacity is planned. Once completed, Ballpark Village is anticipated to draw millions of visitors each year.
