ST. LOUIS -- The Project Connect Action Plan being developed in partnership between the City of St. Louis and its residents will advance to the next project phase with a second community meeting on September 26, 2016, at Confluence Academy in the Old North St. Louis neighborhood.

The City is again seeking community input in its pursuit to connect current initiatives being proposed by the public and private sectors in the neighborhoods north of downtown, which includes the new location of the Next NGA West campus.

Project Connect held its first public meeting as well as an industry forum in June, following the announcement by NGA that it would build its new West Headquarters north of downtown in the St. Louis Place neighborhood. Since that first meeting, the Project Connect team has been engaging in the community in a number of different ways, including a series of small forums. This second large public meeting will provide an opportunity for citizens to:

  • Learn about Project Connect's progress
  • Voice their input
  • Receive an update on the City's site preparation project for NGA
  • Hear about NGA's design and building process
  • Discuss next steps

Project Connect will define and prioritize elements of the public realm that will support neighborhood stability and reinvestment. The Project Connect team is working with residents to determine how the City should best utilize public funding to bolster reinvestment throughout these neighborhoods. The resulting Action Plan will guide future investment in streets, transit, bicycle access, social services, parks, open spaces, and stormwater facilities.
