Jamie Wilson is the Director of the City of St. Louis Street Department, appointed by Mayor Lyda Krewson in 2017, with his primary responsibility being the maintenance and operation of the public right of way. The Street Department consists of the Street Maintenance, Refuse, Traffic and Lighting, and Towing divisions as well as the Director's Office.
Jamie graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri as well as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certified by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Prior to working for the City, Jamie spent 18 years as a transportation engineer with an engineering consultant firm where he ultimately served as President /Chief Executive Officer. While there, his experience was focused on projects related to improving the City's transportation infrastructure and operations.
Jamie joined the Street Department in 2015 as the City's first Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator where he was responsible for ensuring that the planning, design, maintenance, and operation of the City's transportation network includes the proper accommodations for users of all modes of travel and people of all abilities.
