TITLE: Administrative Clerk - OSP
REPORTS TO: Director of Off Street Parking
SHIFT: , Monday - Friday, with the ability to work weekends and overtime.
Employees in this classification will perform a variety of clerical, administrative and parking operations duties in support of the department in which they work.
Greet visitors and direct to appropriate office and validate guest parking garage tickets. Assist with telephone calls and directing callers to the appropriate location. Answer routine questions and inquiries from visitors and callers. Make copies, fax documents, type, and file, enter data and perform other clerical functions normally associated with an office setting. Receive and deliver inter-office mail. Generate and distribute routine reports as directed by supervisor. Maintain calendar of reservation for conference room; Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings. Complete and process supply requests as needed for department needs. Assist Director Off-Street Parking and other staff as requested. Works in place of Administrative Clerk IV when needed; Assists with payroll functions. Maintain files for tickets written by Kiel garage supervisors. Work in place of Parking Attendant when needed. Other duties as may be assigned by supervisor or Treasurer's Office management.
High school diploma or GED equivalent; two years experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing and/or administrative experience. Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of payroll/accounting procedures. Computer literacy and experience working in Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Word and Excel. Ability to read, write and speak English is required. Must possess a high level of interpersonal skill and the ability to deal with a variety of individuals. Must possess good written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to perform basic math problems that are associated with calculating appropriate payments for parking and making change for customers. Must be able to comply with the physical requirements of the position. Must be comfortable working with the public. Must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with attention to details and accuracy.
This is primarily an inside office position and employee will be required to perform routine office functions such as walking, sitting, reaching, etc. May be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
While working as a parking attendant, employees may be required to sit for extended periods of time in a small booth. Exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions, noise, fumes, and dust are common.
