TITLE: College Savings Account Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Empowerment

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing and growing a city-wide Children’s Savings Accounts (“CSA”) Program for students in St. Louis public district and charter schools.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, business administration or related field. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) with three plus years of demonstrated experience developing and implementing financial education and instruction for youth. Fundraising experience desired. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to master other software programs; ability to utilize computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting activities. Knowledge of financial capability and counseling. Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal rules and regulations. Must possess the ability to effectively problem-solve with the ability to convey suggestions/ideas in a constructive, nonjudgmental manner. Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to details. Must be able to operate personal vehicle for business and possess a current valid Missouri or Illinois driver’s license and insurance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists in the development of short-term and long-term plans for the CSA program, monitor progress, ensure adherence and evaluate performance. Maintains and develops productive working relationships with a wide variety of public and private program partners - including elected officials, school leaders, potential donors, community leaders, government officials, bank representatives, parents and students. Manages accounts, including facilitating participant enrollment and account opening and tracking account activity. Develops incentive programs to encourage academic achievement and financial literacy among students and parents. Ensures the financial sustainability of the program, through active monitoring. Maintains accurate and complete records of activities, monitors performance to achieve outcomes, and prepares reports. Conducts marketing and outreach campaigns to potential donors; to parents and students; and to general community.
