TITLE: College Savings Account Program - Community Outreach Assistant

REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Empowerment

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting with the promotion of financial literary within the St. Louis community including the city-wide College Kids Program for students enrolled in the St. Louis Public Schools and St. Louis charter schools.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration with two years of experience in community outreach including experience developing and implementing financial education and instruction for youth or equivalent experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to master other software programs; ability to utilize computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting activities. Direct experience with community engagement and relationship building is preferred. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Engaging and interactive presentation skills, with comfort in speaking to audiences of all sizes. Ability to relate to others in caring manner, exhibiting professional conduct, appearance, and a positive attitude. Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to details. Ability and willingness to work overtime, evening and weekend hours as required by events and meetings. Ability to operate personal vehicle for business and possess a current valid Missouri or Illinois driver’s license and insurance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist with developing a comprehensive, engaging, meaningful and contemporary youth financial literacy education curriculum. Educates the community on college kids program and the importance of utilizing the program. Manage the library of financial literacy resources (presentations, online tools, etc.) by reviewing regularly and updating content. Assist with planning and implementation of financial education programs within the community. Track community outreach requests, donations, sponsorships; help set goals and track effectiveness. Track enrollee participation in conjunction with incentive. Support tracking system and provide reporting. Create survey tools to engage clients in conversation regarding program. Assist with planning OFE/College Kids events. Create and maintain electronic documentation of attendance at outreach events. Assist in promoting awareness of the program by enhancing its marketing and social media strategies. Assists with maintaining enrollee database. Host and/or attend occasional evening events, meetings and workshops. Conduct marketing and outreach campaigns to potential donors; to parents and students; and to general community. Assists students, parents and financial institutions with achieving financial education goals and provides financial literacy activities to improve retention of participants in program. Deliver general information about the college saving program at literacy workshops and community information fairs.
