Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position perform auto/truck body repair and painting. Duties include: assessing vehicle body damage, loading vehicle onto auto body frame machine and performing exterior and interior body work including repair/replacement of damaged items.

Successful completion of a recognized trade school or junior college program in automotive technology; plus at least three years of experience in automotive body repair. OR, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License: Incumbents must posses and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not have a Missouri driver’s license must submit a “Driving Record Check” from their State’s Department of Motor Vehicles at the Oral Interview.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: ASE and/or ICAR Certification

MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of the medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
