Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing entry-level legal work in the City Counselor's Office which may include practice in: municipal prosecutions, problem properties, civil litigations, and/or contracts and real estate matters.

Graduation from a school of law approved by the Committee on Legal Education of the American Bar Association.
License: License to practice law by the Supreme Court of Missouri and Membership in the Missouri Bar.
Applicants must submit the following with their application: proof of membership in the Missouri Bar, Law School transcript and two legal writing samples.

A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their academic qualifications as listed on the Employment Application and an evaluation of the academic qualifications and writing samples. Please fully describe any work experience and educational achievements (e.g., rank, honors, service on law journal or review, service on Moot Court, published law review article, etc.) Include reasons for changes in employers and any gaps in employment on the application. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the employee must submit a copy of his/her DD214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
