- Maximum: $60,866.00
Incumbents who meet the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $42,328 annually. Journeyman in an appropriate skilled trade who have completed an apprenticeship program registered by the Department of Labor or equivalent will start at $47,684 annually. Proof of completion of a registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program and Journeyman status must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
This position is selected for the Hiring Incentive Program. The incentive shall be in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500.00). The hiring incentive will be paid (if funds are available) by the Department/Division which appoints the applicant.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position design, program, install, maintain and repair electronic and mechanical control systems.

An Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or completion of a two-year training program in electronics from a recognized trade school; OR two years of experience maintaining and repairing Building Automation Control Systems.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must be able to present license at the time of the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Building Automation Control Systems, Direct Digital Controls, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, large commercial steam, hot water and chilled water automated HVAC systems. Training from an accredited school in DDC controls, Programmable Logic Controllers, or process control.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
