Salary

  • Minimum: $38,220.00
  • Maximum: $63,700.00

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position lead and participate in the repair, maintenance and painting of a variety of airfield surfaces such as runways, taxiways, ramps, parking lots, signs and equipment. Positions require shift, weekend and holiday assignments, mandatory overtime and 24-hour snow call. Candidates must provide their availability for shift and weekend assignments on the Availability Section of the Employment Application.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of airport runways, taxiways, ramps, and grounds which includes priming, painting, repairing and maintaining a variety of airfield surface markings and signage.  OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with Passenger Bus and Tank Vehicle endorsements while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B) at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Candidates that do not have the Passenger Bus and Tank Vehicle endorsements at the time of hire must obtain them as a condition of successfully completing their working test period.  Please note type of license, number, class, expiration date and State where issued on the Employment Application.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application.  The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly.  A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
