The City of St. Louis Department of Health will be promoting National Public Health Week (NPHW) 2012 from April 2nd - April 6th in the lobby of the Abrams Building at 1520 Market Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

According to the web site:  www.nphw.org, sometimes the smallest change can make the biggest difference.  If we take small actions, our communities, homes and families will see the large benefits of preventive care and grow the movement.  Eating healthy and engaging in regular physical activity are just a few of the ways people can stay healthy.  Yet each year, despite these easy ways to stay healthy, nearly 1 million Americans die from diseases that could have been prevented.  Here are the themes for each day of National Public Health Week:

Monday - April 2 - active living and health eating

Tuesday, April 3 - living tobacco- and drug-free and preventing alcohol abuse

Wednesday, April 4 - preventing communicable diseases

Thursday, April 5 - reproductive and sexual health

Friday, April 6 - mental and emotional well-being

All St. Louisans are invited to come learn how to live healthier lifestyle.
