According to the American Public Health Association, the theme for this year's National Public Health Week is "Building Bridges to Better Health." Making communities safe and healthy is public health's top priority. COVID-19 has made that even more important. While NPHW 2021 will take place completely virtually April 5-11, 2021, social media and virtual platforms make it easier than ever for us to connect, create and take action.

Each day of National Public Health Week will focus on a particular public health topic to reflect on ways each of us can make a difference on that topic. Everyone can do their part to improve public health.

Monday: Rebuilding - having the vision to create a better, more inclusive, more just world through public health.

Tuesday: Advancing Racial Equity - making racial equity central to health equity

Wednesday: Strengthening Community - using Health Impact Assessments to identify key public health concerns in the community.

Thursday: Galvanizing Climate Justice - preparing for and responding to health threats caused by climate change

Friday: Constructing COVID-19 Resilience - better equipping our public health system to respond to future public health emergencies

Saturday: Uplifting Mental Health and Wellness - making mental health services readily available during the current and future public health emergencies

Sunday: Elevating the Essential and Health Workforce - supporting programs that strengthen the public health workforce.
